They use a different visual structuring to display the same information--how objects exchange messages.

Specifically, Collaboration diagrams are better for showing the dynamic structure of the system (which object collaborates with which others), whereas sequence diagrams concentrate on the timing aspect (which message gets send when).
Many UML tools are able to automatically convert one into the other.

Theoretically they contain the same information, give or take some special decoration. Rose can convert back and forth between them as different visualizations of the same model.
