Digital Prospectors is a Full Service Discount IT Recruiting Agency. We have a fixed mark-up and practice full disclosure. Check us out at www.dpcit.com We currently have a client in MA that is looking for a very senior Java Developer 128 Loop (west of Boston) 6 months $100/hr + DOE Development of Java GUI application infrastructure to support enterprise storage management applications. The GUI infrastructure provides a framework (APIs, usage guidelines, etc.) that builds upon Swing and other Java 2 components. The GUI forms the client portion of a multi-tiered framework, allowing the development of complex applications that work together for a consistent, integrated look and feel, with work flow optimized for the needs of many types of users. Most of the people whom I have come across, even the ones with 10 or more years of experience, have worked only on relatively small components: Java web applets, servelets, GUI projects with 3 or 4 dialogs, etc. They are mostly doing relatively straightforward, simple stuff, even if the overall project they are part of is big. What we are working on here is a very complex GUI infrastructure that pushes the limits of Java and Swing technology. We need people with a deep understanding of this technologythe type who would be candidates for building pieces of the technology themselvesnot just average users of it. The difference between these two are like the difference between someone who is an expert at using Microsoft Word, and someone who developed Word. So, when I see a resume from someone who worked on 10 different order entry GUIs in the last 5 years, my general impression will be that they did not probe deeply, because they only had enough time on each project to touch the surface and the application did not require particularly creative use of the technology Experience Required BSCS with 8+ years of experience developing complex commercial-quality applications, specializing in user interface design and implementation. Experience in developing large Java applications required, with Swing experience a plus. Candidate must have a strong understanding of user interfaces, with proven ability to work independently, designing creative solutions to complex problems and carrying them through to production-quality implementation. We do most of our software development on NT, but if someone prefers to use Unix thats up to them. The applications that we develop have to run on lots of platforms, including NT, Windows 95/98, and many versions of Unix. ************************************************* Chris Roos Digital Prospectors 978-443-2299 chris@dpcit.comwww.dpcit.com
