This week we're delighted to have Elisabeth A. Freeman, Eric Freeman, Bert Bates and Kathy Sierra amongst us, helping to answer questions in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum.

We'll be selecting four random posters in this forum to win a free copy of their book, "Head First Design Patterns", provided by the publisher, O'Reilly.

Welcome Elisabeth, Eric, Bert and Kathy!

I'm loving this, more experts to talk to about refactoring even though some of the time I will be bending the conversion toward the PRO's and cons of procedural programming, but hay , the more I talk the more I learn, I hope I am not too much of a pain.

BTW Why would we talk about procedural programming? I understand that if you are writing your persistence code you will be using procedural programming but if you leave that alone, Whats the point?

This thread is for welcoming the authors of the book being promoted. Please start or continue technical conversations in separate threads.

Hello all! Thank you very much for the warm welcome. We'll be answering the technical questions in each separate thread so look for answers there.

Thanks!

Elisabeth

Hi all -
If you don't mind, can you put "Head First Design Patterns:" in front of your questions - I know some people are. It really helps us pick out which questions are for us!

Thank you,

Elisabeth
