slightly off topic. light reading for amusement. Java as seen from C++

Context - it may help to know that the Boost library www.boost-consulting.com is an important C++ library. Herb Sutter is a well-known C++ expert who has written some outstanding books and articles on C++. I've heard some people were joking about something to compete with the popularity of Java.

C++ isn�t the April fools joke, if you use it appropriately like for reusable libraries and frameworks.

That's a joke. There is a funny bit around someplace with Dennis Richie admitting that C was a hoax he put together to parody real programming and he's really sorry that it every caught on. If anybody has it, lemme know.

I know I am anti oop ,but that interview was strange man!. I am off to find more of his interviews.

, I spent years using a language based on top of C and C/SQL. At least it was a bit less painfull that C.
