Thanks Mr. Reddy,
Maybe I ll take a break now and think over this hard in this weekend. I was thinking if I am sticking around for 90 days then no point in taking up the new assignment right??

Many thanks fellow ranchers. I have taken all your advice into account. Today morning I sent an email to my Team Lead stating my unwillingness to take up a new assignment. However I was told that it is you who doesnt decide but it is the management who decides.

Earlier I had asked the future employer about the extension of date, and they extended it from 30 days to 45 days. Now again if I ask I do not think that they will accept it because of their ongoing projects criticality.

Currently, I am in a state of confusion! My offer will go and due to the management I have lost a vital oppurtunity.

I am planning to walk out after serving my 30 days.

thanks guys for your inputs. It is really appreciated.

Hi Ranchers,
I need some advice from you. Actually I had earlier submitted my resignation around 20 days back and in it I had put that I will be leaving the company within 30 days. The then Project Manager had verbally agreed that he will relieve me within 45 days. However now the PM has changed and in the mean time I have finished off with the Knowledge Handover.

Instead of relieving me , he is now putting me into a new assignment where the delivery is very soon. I personally do not want to take up this assignment. Moreover he is saying that according to company policy he will not relieve me within 90 days.

This has caused me utter mental imbalance as I will be losing a very very good offer from my hand.

What do I do?? With this in mind definitely I will not be ever productive if I do continue with this work. Where is the motivation factor??

Kindly need advice on this. Any suggestions from your side will be deeply appreciated.

regards,
Abhishek

Hi Ranchers,

Could you tell me about the work culture for Ness technologies in Bangalore. I would appreciate if fellow ranchers could share their experience here.
Are they considered as paymasters?

regards,
Abhishek

All the best Amtesh and I think T Systems is definitely a nice choice. All the best. BTW how did you manage the notice period i.e. 90 days?

Hi Amtesh,
Dont you think LogicaCMG pays well below par to its old employees?? And the appraisals are really poor?? I am myself a victim of that.

I know that no company might be perfect in all these, however I would like to know that whether the fellow ranchers are really enjoying the work they are doing?

Hi Ranchers,

Earlier in a thread there has been quite a nice discussion on Paymasters in India. Now I was just wondering if fellow ranchers can share their views on the top companies work culture wise! By work culture I mean:

1. Proper Training
2. Facilities
3. Work Environment(Friendly and cooperating, synergetic etc.)
4. Individual Growth
5. Innovation and early adoption of latest technologies.
6. Proper reward for work done.

etc.

Abhishek

I have been doing well in my cuurent company. However the main reason I am planning to make a move is to work on projects which have got more learning.

Congratulations!!!

Definitely it is worth. If you are crazy about programming and learning then this will not be a matter. Finally what counts is your job satisfaction. I personally believe that the risk is worth it. But I still do not believe they will offer you 20 percent less than your current salary. Try to negotiate with the HR and I believe no company will give some 20 percent less then what you are getting.

Here your negotiation skills will come to play. Give a hard thought and then move on.

I myself am working for a major bank as a developer. Here maximum work (for offshore people) is mainly maintenance. For maintenance and support there is huge money. work is cool and most of the time you wait for service requests to come. But i feel it is really boring for a developer.

Well development projects, I have been into development of some projects of the banking domain. Most of the projects come as Fixed Price say they have a budget which my companies bid team have got it say for 10000 Euros. And the deadlines are very very sharp indeed. But there is no independence in choosing your framework or anything of that sort as the designs have already come from the bank. It is now upto us to start implementing the designs.

So I hope this helps.
