Hi all,
This is my first post on this forum and I would like to take some advice. I have 10+ years of experience working in leading MNC. I recently got into a management position and have 6 people reporting to me. Because of corporate restructuting, the company is now making a policy of having 1 manager for every 12 people. So that means I no longer get to be a Manager after the restructuring and need to go back to do Technical work or be in a lead position. My problem is (1) its been couple of years since I lost touch with the Technical side and (2) my interests are to continue in this management side. (3) it is hard to be become a peer to the people I manage, even though it is a lead position.
My manager tells me that once the company stabilizes and it goes into the hiring mode again, I can go into the management position but nobody knows when it is gonna be.
My question is should I stick here and wait for that opportunity or get out and find a new job.
Appeciate your views on this.
Thanks
Srinath
