I'm a year-round shorts guy, which is unique because I live in Wisconsin. From April through October I can't wait to get home to ditch the Bugle Boys and put on some shorts. One of my favorite memories is from Christmas three or four years ago. My wife and I were at her parent's house in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (da' U.P., eh!)when it hit the mid-50's. Man, it felt good wearing shorts on Christmas!
My co-workers often discuss why women are allowed to wear shorts at work, while us guys can't. Then, when I play in the annual men's golf outing and see my co-workers in shorts, I see why!

You know it must be back-to-school time when the corporate police lock all the office supply rooms! Normally, we just take what we need, but come August the annual lockdown begins.
Does anyone else have to suffer these embarassing indignities?

I'm not surprised since I was raised and confirmed a Lutheran, but converted to Catholicism when I got married.
This was fun, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Scott. This article was very informative.

Thanks for all the information, Gerry. I really appreciate your time.
As to Ravi's question, this is all I know about the files: we will use the ASC X12N 811 for the transmittal file, and the ASC X12N 820 for the payment file. In fact, the EDI specialists within our organization haven't even shown us the file structure. They are waiting for us to formally declare that we will use EDI. Then, they will order the manuals and send us a spreadsheet interpretation of the two files.

I am on a project to add EDI to our billing system. This will allow us to bill and receive payments from our largest trading partners. However, our client would like to open this option to all our trading partners, if possible. How can I justify using XML when our company already uses EDI in other departments?
