Thanks alot for your previous answers which made my liferay installation work very well till recently when out of the blues, I am now getting the following error... Please help because as a production server, its giving me nightmares....

At the command prompt, type cd /home/asliyanage/software/jboss-4.2.2.GA/bin/ and press the enter key. Then type ./run.sh & and press enter key again. Hope this works for you.

Yes, Peter, Liferay uses the context "/" and I have already removed the ROOT.war from the .../deploy/ directory which you you have righytfully indicated that it is the JBoss home page. I have deleted ROOT.war(JBoss home page) and replaced it with liferay-portal.war. What should I do to as the error 404 -- The requested resource (/) is not available is still there? Please help. Hi,

I have a working .jar file properly copied into the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy folder. I have also successfully created a database in mysql with a working username and a password. This database is supposed to be used by the application that I have developed. How do I configure the datasource and how do I determine the datasource name for the connection so that my application can communicate with the database?

I have not programmed before but have supported PC users for years as a support technician. I recently (in June) bought the guide by Kathy and Bert for SCJ 5.0 with a dream to get certified within 2 months or so. It looks abit uphill now. How do I prepare and get certified with the minimum time possible and what is the realistic timeframe if I dedicate this task fulltime?
