hi,

i'm new to JSF.

Hopefully my question does not sound that stupid...How to debug JSF? Is it just like debugging a normal java application?
dear rohan / david,

Thanks for your reply.

(I should have read the other threads to see my questions were already asked.... sorry....)
Oh.... i forget the most important question.....

does the book comes with a CD with all the code examples from the book and perhaps a sample running application that can be deployed on glassfish for testing?
Hi David,

Just like to find out what this book is all about .....
In fact i have lotsa questions

By the title of the book, it seems that it will cover both jee 5 devt as well as netbeans 6 usage. Does the book cover brief explanation of major java ee 5 features (e.g ejb 2.0, jax-ws, JSF) before diving into how to use nebeans 6 to speed up the devt?

Throughout the whole book, is it using different small examples on the devt or is it a incremental type example base on 1 sample case study=petstore / online library syste/ etc? (e.g building database, usage of JTA, annotations, using jsf to build the gui part, etc)

i assume the book also cover deployment right?

which application server does the book referred to for deployment? glassfish? (another add on question does it mean the glassfish book and this has to be read TOGETHER? i hope not... heee)

that's all the qestion i caN think of now. will post again if i think of somethg new.
Ramesh,

Yes the ePractice exam covers the SCEA 5 part 1 objectives

Kunal,
I bought the part 2 exam through the local sun education website.
After making my payment, the local sun representative contacted me to give my prometric testing ID so that the details for d/l the assignment is available

Btw, i have enter the Priority Code as "WW48CX1" for the free re-take promotion.
Note: only valid for

hi,
just found this thread while trying to nail the scope for SCEA 5 part 2 and I find it very informative

btw does anyone know when is sun going to update the core j2ee patterns blueprints.
Flavio,

Thanks for the sharing the information! This helps since I'm looking for a headstart to start my part 2
I'm struggling to determine how much information I should include in part 2... heehee

(btw.... i know this thread is more than a mth old... hee... but it's still valid... )
yes, the question will indicate this.
e.g "Which two is the benefit..... (Choose two)"
Congrats!!!

Can I ask you one last question ?

Honestly tell me how much time you spent for this certification ? this will really help many of us to plan well for this certification.

Thanks

Siraj

well... i thk in total i spent ard 1-2 mths study for the certification.
Each week I will dedicate 1 day to study the different sections of the certification.

Btw it took me longer as I'm not familiar with patterns....so for those who already know maybe the time spent will be shorter?

Hope this helps........

Congrats to being able to purchase the voucher for old part 2!

When I purchased the part 2, it took a total of 4 days before i can download the assignment. (But I purchased it online. not over the phone)
- the local sun office had to first confirm the purchase.
- Afterwhich the US sun office sent me an email on the details (including userid /pw) for accessing the cert manager to d/l the assignment.

and btw... I'm not residing in US.

hmmm... I guess it should be the Prometric Testing ID (ie the one used in part 1)
Hi folks,

Regarding System performance / scalability, availability, security, does anyone knows of any books / reference I can use to address the above?

Can these actually be fully addressed in deployment diagram?
e.g having enough memory / servers.
Is it neccessary to further explain it in "Assumptions"?
Go to the end of the page of Sun's Applet security for a summary of applet's capability

well.....
the word "scale" brings to mind "performance".

And the main usage of HTML editors is mostly WYSIWG..... nothing much to do with performance...
(i mean is there a way we can tell how well a JSF , JSP, ASP, perl page scale? I mean does it matter? HTML editor is more of designing static web pages. And to find out how well a dynamic page will scale i don't suppose we'll use HTML editor. there're probably other better tools for doing this.)

so in my opinion... that's why the option "JSF does not scale well in HTML editors. " is eliminated

and since this qn is a MCQ..... And I like my life simple....
I will chose the best answer . ie"C Standard HTML editors will not render the JSF accurately."
