Daddaoua marouan wrote:can you explain to me please this idea of the LOGO ! ??
is it a JAVA LOGO WITH YOUR NAMES ON IT or what ??!!! and where you use it ??

no, its NOT with your name, its just a logo for the certificate itself.

and you can use it in the CV (Resume) , or if you want to design your own contact card.

i just recived this email from Oracle

Hi Tariq,

Thanks for mailing the details. Our records indicate that you have earned the following credentials:

Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer
Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 5/SE 6

Currently you will not be able to download the logos from Certmanager. Please note that you will not be able to view the SUN exams through Certview. The SUN exams will be merged to Oracle Database only by mid 2011. You have to view the SUN exam details through Certmanager as before.

We are working on the Oracle logos and you will be able to download the same in few weeks.

Regards,
OCP Team

but the funny thing, that i recived the logo for the Associte certificate in my certmanager, i dunno whats wrong

Scott Kirk wrote:THERE WILL BE NO HARDCOPIES of SUN ID CERTIFICATIONCARDS SENT OUT AFTER NOVEMBER30, 2010 I suppose SUN ID Card will be a valuation asset to keep :-)

Q: Will my certificate be from Sun or Oracle?

A: It depends on when you complete the last certification requirement for your track:
* If you completed all of your Java, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Solaris Cluster, MySQL, NetBeans and OpenOffice.org exams before September 1, 2010, you will receive a Sun-branded certification kit.
* If you completed your last exam for these tracks on or after September 1, 2010, you will receive an Oracle certification kit.

Q: Will I receive a hard copy or soft copy certificate?

A: Hard copies of Sun-branded kits will continue to be mailed only through November 30, 2010. After November 30, 2010, candidates who earned Sun-branded certifications will begin receiving their certifications through email (i.e. I.D. cards and hard copies of certificates will no longer be sent).

Now,I gave my exam on 18th September and got my exam report under Oracle. Having said that the Sun-branded kits would be mailed only till November 30th, can I expect to receive hard-copy of the Oracle certification kit? I don't think the kits under Oracle would stop being distributed as hard-copies.

And yes, a hard-copy of the certification kit is preferable.

first of all, theres no Oracle hard copy certificates, only Sun certificate (i know they said about anyone who take the exam after 1st september will be Oracle Certified, but i think they changed their mind)
and its questionable about Oracle distributing hard copies. and that is the link of what Scott quoted http://blogs.oracle.com/certification/2010/09/0376.html
thats just great!! so everytime i want to prove that am certified ill be like "hey, give me your email and ill prove it".

and i cant send it with my cv, ill just tell the employee "check your email, you will find it there"

stupid Oracle, they just screw around sun
i just passed the OCJA with 100%, i know its not that big deal as i got OCJP before. But when i read the objectives of the OCJA, i was like "I CAN DO THAT" :P
I just want to thank Robert Liguori and Edward Finegan for their great book. And thanks for everybody here who tries to create a better java community

Mike Peters wrote:As I remember correctly you first have to verify your personal information. From the oracle site:

1. Log into certmanager.net/sun
If it is your first time logging into the database, you may need the information on your test score report

2. Verify your demographic information

3. Before you can download a logo, you must complete the logo agreement form. Choose Complete a Form. All certifications that you have will have a corresponding logo agreement form. If there is no form listed for your certification, it means that certification does not have a corresponding logo. This is true for some partner certifications, and employee certifications.

4. Once you have completed the logo agreement form, choose Download Logos. Your logo will be listed as a downloadable zip file.

5. If you ever need to download the logo again, it is available in the Download Logos area

I hope this helps.

yea, i read these steps in an old topic, but it didnt work for me.

well, i think Oracle changed something ...

hi people,
i passed the OCJP exam in 8th sep, and i got an email about that, and logged in successfully to the certmanager site

does anybody know how to download the logo of the OCJP (SCJP)?

when i log in the CertManager site, and click on the Download Logos, it says : There were no records found.
and i get the same message when i click on the "Complete a Form".

does it mean theres no logo for OCJP yet? or am i missing something?

have you done the examlab tests? and what did you get?

if you got above 50 and still failed, then its not only about "preparation". i think you just got stressed in the exam, thats what happened to me.
you just need to redo the mock exam again, and then just be confident, you will definitely pass next time.

good luck

i think its better if you buy the hard copy, believe me, its totally worth it.
reading a book from the screen is tiring and annoying. for me i couldnt even read the notes i found on the faq page from the screen, i just printed them out.

so either you buy a new copy or used from ebay. or try to look in the public library. good luck

go 4 scjp
other one is 4 school kids..

saying its 4 school kids, and giving the thumb up isnt right

the SCJA introduces you to technologies you will never know in SCJP. introduction to JME,JSE and JEE, RMI, working with database, simple introduction to server/client side technologies.

am not saying you should take the SCJA first (i didnt take it, i went straight to SCJP), but its an excellent introduction to Java technologies.

today finally, i passed the SCJP but with not a good score though 75%, i answered 45 questions correctly out of 60. i think i didnt prepare well for the exam, i shouldve studied more but i wanted to finish the exam before the semester begins.

i studied for 1 month, and read the book once, then i took the examlab tests, and i got low scores: Diagnostic 56, exam 1 55, exam 2 45, exam 3 60, final exam 41,

i know i shouldve retake the exams until i get more than 50. so learn from my mistakes :P

the exam software is just like the exam lab, except that they put the "Oracle" logo instead of "Sun".

first of all, i want to thank Devaka Cooray, for his great software examlab. and of course Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates, for their book.
