If you copy the subcontents of ROOT and make a new directory place it inside it webapps alongside ROOT and paste inside the new directory you created. That's the way you can do that but it had to be inside webapps. then you can run srevlet like
http:\\localhost:8080\yourDir\servlet\servletName
In win2K when i startup tomcat it reboots my computer. In win98 recently tomcat had made my os go bonkers i mean it starts opening windows explorer etc etc. With this situation i will never be able to learn tomcat. I work on tomcat4.0.1 b and the other new versions dont even startup

I'm from Pakistan. I also happen to have your Begining Java 2 to be the first book i studied for Java. Infact i recently got your Visual C++ 6 book. There isn't very much jobs for Java programmers here in Pakistan but there are some work going on here to promote Java in Pakistan. I made my final project (WebBrowser) for my B.C.S using Java.
Dream to be a good programmer like you in the future.

How do i do that?
I have jdk1.3 & oracle 8 runing on win98. I loaded JDBC driver and set classpath to classes111.zip. and when i run the java program that connects to oracle it says UnsatisfiedLinkerError:
OCI804jdbc.dll. Where as this file exists in e:\orawin95\bin\
and its path is set in autoexec.bat. What should i do.
