Hi

Thanks for your reply. This really helped.

1 more thing. You mentioned:

Basically, you need to make sure your code works and integrates into the larger picture.

What is this called? Integration testing?

Is a Java Developer/Developer also required to do this?

Also, I am learning every day on new technhologies.

The problem is that I can't leave, well I can. Actaully, I am a Junior Developer. I am Certified in Java (SCJP) but I am getting experience from the company.

Any ideas?

Hi

First of all sorry. I am not sure where to ask this question.

Is there a way to rate a Java Developer based on industry standard. For example:

Level 1 Level 2 Level 3

So in each of these levels, there are certain things that a Java Developer must meet.

What I actually mean is there some sort of system or something that we can rate a Java Developer based on industry standard? So a Java Developer meets certain things to be a Level 3.

I think the question is: What do recruiters use to grade individuals?

Actually, my company has this level system but for IT people in mind and isn't aimed for Developers. Is there something for a Developer?

I work in a software company as a Java Developer. I am aware that a Java Developer/Developer is required to carry out Unit Testing. What are other kinds that a Developer is expected to carry out?

Also if a Scrum methadology is being used, what is expected to be used?

I am only looking for names such as Unit Testing for both:

Developer
Scrum methadology.

Hi

Also, can you tell me is the following a Certification:

http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getCourseDesc?dc=D71536

If yes, which Certification is this and does it contain a mixture in Java EE?
Hi

I am SCJP Certified and would like to take another certification. Last year I studied Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0.

Currently, I am learning and practising Spring. The Spring Certification costs around £20, 000 which is too costly. As far as I am aware Spring is similar to EJB.

In the near future I would like to work on Spring projects. If for example, I take the EJB Certification do you think this would help. I really don't want to take the Spring Certification due to the cost.

Any advice would be helpful.
Hi

But the cost of that is too costly. I think I checked last time it was around £20, 000 because it is required to attend the classroom training.

Is there anything similiar to that in Java? Maybe the EJB Certification exam because it is similar to Spring. What do you say?
Hi

Thanks for your help.

Also, I am learning the Spring framework. I am aware that the Spring certification is too costly. I have also learnt Enterprise Java Beans.

Which exam would you recommend in doing? In the near future I will be working in Java Spring. So anything that would help towards this.

Hi

Just to add more information.

If the above is true, which is for instructor classroom training. Which certifications can be done through books and online that don't cost much. For example, Oracle website mentions the following:

Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) Developer £2,235

Basically, any certification on the Oracle website mentions around price above. When I did my SCJP it cost be £202. Is there any other certification that is lower in price?

Any help would be helpful.
Hi

I have completed my SCJP last year and wishing to take the SCJD/OCMJD exam. On the Oracle website it mentions the following:

This course counts towards the Hands-on course requirement for the Java SE 6 Developer Certification. Only instructor-led inclass or instructor-led online formats of this course will meet the Certification Hands-on Requirement. Self Study CD-Rom and Knowledge Center courses DO NOT meet the Hands-on Requirement.

I am not exactly sure what this means? Does it mean it is mandatory to attend a inclass instructor or pay for a online format?

When I did my SCJP I prepared using Books and Online websites. Having read the above I am little bit confused.
