Hi Bani,
I have just started preparing for Exam # 1Z0-007. I did some research on internet about reviews and recomendations for the preparation material. I found that the book "OCA/OCP: Introduction to Oracle9i SQL Study Guide" by Chip Dawes, Biju Thomas has very good ratings and reviews. And it's on sale (45% off) on www.bookpool.com!
Good Luck for the preparation!

Hi all,
I am going to take SCJP at the end of this month and then I want to go for SCWCD. But I don't know much about JSP and Servlets(which are the main topics in SCWCD).
Can you tell me where to start? Is it necessary to learn J2EE to leasrn JSP and Servlets?
Should I go for JSP first or servlets first? Which books are good for beginners? Any resourse list awailable?
Thank you

Hello Nadia,
I am also planning to take SCJP at the end of July or in the beginning of August. Are going for 1.2 or 1.4?

Hi Dan Chisholm,
I was searching for this kind of topic based mock exams for the long time. I am glad finally I found it!
Thanks for helping us.

Do you have any review for Java 2 Certification Virtual Trainer by Simon Roberts, Philip Heller? It's exapansive, so just want to know is it worth spending $60 - $70?
Thanks
Hi Swati, It's nice to know that you are managing to prepare for the exam with two kids. I really wish you good luck.
Thanks Corey for your suggestions. I am very familier with OO language, so "learning Java" with SCJP is not the issue. But I think you are right that I do need some "real world experience" to be a good programmer. Thanks for suggesting JavaRanch's Cattledrive.
Hello Java Ranchers!
I studied Java before 2 years at the university when I was a computer science student. I took couple of courses like Java 101 and Java 102 that time( I got an 'A' grade in one of them). But from last 1.5 years, I became 'Stay at home MOM' and lost touch with Java.
Now I got a chance to do something and probably get a job if I take SCJP and SCWCD. It a good chance for me but I don't feel confident about SCJP and SCWCD.
Is it possible to take SCJP exam without any real world Java experience/project? Is it possible to take SCJP by just reading books and writing some java code at home? IS there any rancher who is a mom or a housewife planning to take SCJP?
Thanks for reading this post.
