Hi, I'm really new to j2me. Can someone tell me the difference between 1.1 and 1.0 other than 1.1. supports floating point and does most low end PDA support 1.1 or 1.0.

Say I open a file, do some stuff w/ it, and exit the application and the file is closed. After couple of days, I want to read the same file(same path) but not sure if that file is newly created or is the same old file, can anyone tell me how do I check that in JAVA?

Hi, I have a socket, I get the inputstream and wrapped it in a bufferedreader and I do reader.readLine(). However I'm only gettting partial lines of text instead of whole lines, has anyone encountered this problem before and is there a way to solve the partial line reading problem.

Hi all, I read an article from javaworld saying objects in an object pool can get broken, and you have to repair them in order to return those objects back to the pool. My question is how can you tell if an object is broken, let me know
