Hi,

If you plan to live or already be in the US I think the best for you is Spanish based on the immigration.

Hi,

For a project I implemented XStream for parsing some responses of webservices like yours, found it not complicated and really useful, could you give a try.

Hi,

I want to migrate an application from using plain vectors for persistence to use JDO, the problem now is it is not very friendly or easy to find the data of the application. The application is a pos where it's needed to keep the sales data on memory to do some calculations about price, discounts, promotions, payments, ..... until the transaction is closed.

I'm new to JDO and want to find a non commercial tool not so complicated to use. The app is a client/server graphical one used only internally.

Any help is welcome

Thanks
I don't need synchronization, the application is a point of sale and the data stored in memory are the header and detail of the invoices (well and the discounts, customers details, products, etc, mostly all in vectors of vectors inside beans that give me a headache every time I need to find some info ), one example is the invoice itself, the header data is detailed at bean level, but the detail is a vector of vectors. I want to change it to a more object oriented app, what do you think could be a good design?

thanks

Hi,

I'm updating a system, it's not my design. I found a lot (really a lot!!!) of vectors of vectors and I need to go to a list of constants to know about the data based on the vectors indexes, my question is what are the advantages of using vectors of vectors over vectors of beans.

Thanks

Hi,

I used slackware long time ago ..... then used red-hat, fedora or oracle mostly to install oracle on test or production systems.

From the first time to the last now is easy cake, almost next, nexy, next. But like all OS's.

Hi Bruno,

I look at Birt but found more like a report tool and not a BI one.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the use of some ERP and/or BI projects as a model for bussines. I'm from Mexico and not all at the medium/small companies think about investing on IT.

The ones I found interesting are Compiere (ERP) an Pentaho (BI).

What do you think about those projects ?

To be certified as an Oracle DBA now is simpler (10g): 2 exams an 1 course, before that (9i) needed 4 exams and 1 course.

I found the first exam not so hard, but study for the second is harderm and went from 70 questions to 120.

I hope to had a good score on my second exam it's appointed next friday. I will tell you my score.

If all goes rigth next year will try my java certs.

Hi,

I need to be Oracle database 10g OCP (now OCA).

In the future I want also to be certified for java. The question is witch one is more difficult Oracle or Java ?

Hi,

May wife will probably apply for a elementary teacher position in texas, current salary is 30k - 35k. The jobs are for teaching in english and spanish.

The question is, if she could get the job, how easy/dificult will be for me to search and get a job, we are both from mexico witha 2 year baby.

I'm a Oracle DBA with experience in 8i, 9i and 10g, also experience with developer tools (forms, reports, discoverer) and with application server. Not a lot but with experience with j2ee too. I have been developer, webmaster, team leader and dba.

My IT experience began before (1990) entering university (1994) and a got my degree on Computer Systems in 1999.

Thanks
