Hi
Do I have to tell my current Salary to the new employer during the salary negotiation. I think, my current Salary is well below the Market std. and I am afraid, if they know my current salary, they might very well negotiate for small Salary.

Please help.

Thanks for your response.

Here is my concern. It is NOT vertical organization, but it is parallel organization. What that means is, your reporting manager is different from your work manager. Your work manager and team member will be keep changing project to project. Here you are loosing the history and credibility you earned. All are physically located in different location, you can't meet them in person except your reporting boss, by chance. BTW, I am new his dept, so he is new boss to me and don't have any history of mine.

If don't involve all the people in the process to whom I had frequent interaction, my new boss may say that, you are new to dept, we have to wait and see how you are performing. My new and old work manager will say, I have no authority to do any thing, please work with your reporting manager.
My old manager will say, I can't do any thing, please work with your new reporting manager.

I am in need of finance support and I am under paid.
I am the best judge for my situation. Here I seek to see, what you will do.

Friends,
Drafted a letter to my employer, seek to raise my salary and posted here for your very valuable comments and suggestion as it is important to me at this point. Please help.

I do believe, my salary is well below the industry standard at the same time I want to stay in this job for some more time, but I am open for additional responsibility.

<begin>
Here is the drafted letter,

Hi mgr1/mgr2/mgr3/mgr4 ( All members in my mgt chain )

You all know that, I am here at <company name> for a decade now, working in <dept name> right from the beginning.

Please use my reference and validate, I consistently demonstrated, on time, high
quality in my all deliverables. Team player, earned respect and trust from my fellow
workers and lead by adding value to all our projects endeavor . I am always open and opted for new challenges as it came in my work
place.

Even after so much hardwork and dedication, I do see that, my salary
is much below the industry standard, finding difficult to manage my day
today living expenses. Please come forward and adjust my salary
to my skill level and experience. I have over 15+ years of IT experience,
played vital key role in successful implementation of many projects proj1, proj2, etc.
