Hi,
Me neither, have not received my email yet. I assume we passed (thats how the highschools in my country work with examns). You should be able to check the cert manager for your results
http://www.galton.com/~sun
But you need your candidate ID for that.
I also send an email to Sun about this.
Good luck while waiting!

Hi,
What should I do. I participated in the Beta but did not receive my results yet. How do I get to know my results?

Hi,
I recently got my SCEA certification. I work for a large IT services company in Europe. Being certified as SCEA helped me getting the architecture kind of roles I always wanted..but they also need people that are willing to get thier hands dirty with coding, which is a pleasure after months of drawing pictures and having meetings
What I try to say is that Certification is usefull but it should be part of an something bigger, you need to continue to learn new things (JDO, AOP etc), not be to arrogant but dont forget to keep your eyes on your long term goal. Certification is just one part of the bigger picture.

Hi,
Have a look at the EJB 2.0 spec from Sun..does a good job of describing how role based security works..is that what you are looking for?

Hi,
Im wondering when one uses a persistency layer within an application..when should i rely on the DB as persistenty provider and when should I introduce a additional persistency layer in my application (like entity beans, JDO, hibernate etc). Which requirements (functional and non-functional) beg for the use of a persistency framework?

Hi,
I took the exam yesterday. Took me more than 3 hours to complete all the questions. After that I did not spent any time in reviewing the answers..183 questions..too much. My thoughts about the exam: a little bit much attention to CMP..for the rest it follows the ejb spec really well. All I can do now is wat..if I pass it..thats a win..if i fail..i know what to expect when I do it paid..still a win.
i have a very positive feeling about participating in the Beta.thanks for all the contributors!
Hi,
Related to the job market remark someone made I would like to share the following. Recruiters in my country (The Netherlands) are currently looking for people for projects in Belgium..so it does not seem so bad down south
Hi,
Is The Netherland also ok?
Hi,
Could you tell a bit more about the CMP Entity bean you use. They are most usefull when you only use them for update (delete, create & update) functions, for the read functions (like listing records) you can better use a stateless session bean directly accessing the appropriate method on the DAO. Did you use Value Objects to transfer data to you Business layer or do you have a get/set for every property? Finally, do you use local or remote interfaces to access the entity beans, better to access them by the local interface via a session bean.
Hope this solves your performance troubles!
