Vancouver, BC, Canada, March 21, 2005 -- Ekkon Technologies, the developer of MerchantSpace Commerce, the leading mid-market ecommerce solution for the J2EE platform, announced today that it has changed its name to Elastic Path Software, Inc. VANCOUVER, BC, 10/18/2004 -- Ekkon Technologies, the developer of MerchantSpace Commerce, today announced a major update of its leading Java-based enterprise e-commerce software.

Re-built from the ground up, MerchantSpace Commerce 3.0 now offers a full MVC-2 based service-oriented architecture for enterprise e-commerce initiatives. Utilizing the power and reliability of Java, it leverages open source components such as Velocity, Struts, and Hibernate -- something unique among enterprise e-commerce software vendors. This allows MerchantSpace to be deployed within nearly every environment permutation, either proprietary, open source, or a mix of both.

"We feel with MerchantSpace Commerce 3.0, senior-level IT personnel now have the ability to take control of the technologies they utilize," said Harry Chemko, CEO, Ekkon Technologies. "The service-oriented architecture allows technology layers to be swapped with current best-fit technologies or technologies not even developed yet."

To date, nearly all enterprise vendors have restricted deployment of their e-commerce solution to large, complex, and proprietary enabler applications. MerchantSpace has moved beyond this barrier and is available on Unix, Windows, BSD, Linux, Solaris, and Mac; nearly all major J2EE application servers including JBoss, Apache Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Oracle 10g, and various others; and five major databases including IBM DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

Some notable changes found within version 3.0 are: a fully redeveloped service-oriented architecture, an advanced attribute management system, customer groups & personalization, a promotions engine, a full asset manager, import manager, returns management, and fully indexed internal search capabilities.

Some early adopters of the 3.0 framework include: 24 Hour Fitness, JBoss, Random House, and Sunoco.

Priced at $12,995 USD per CPU, MerchantSpace includes everything necessary for deploying and managing online sales initiatives with all-inclusive licensing for production, staging, and development. MerchantSpace Commerce 3.0 is available immediately.

Mid-market Leading E-commerce Software Vendor Releases MerchantSpace Commerce 2.9
VANCOUVER, BC, Canada, April 22, 2004 -- Ekkon Technologies, the developers of MerchantSpace Commerce, today announced an optimized version of its mid-market leading Java e-commerce software has been released.
Building on the overwhelming global adoption of MerchantSpace Commerce 2.8, version 2.9 further solidifies its position as the leading mid-market e-commerce solution for the J2EE platform.
We are extremely excited about this release, said Harry Chemko, CEO, Ekkon Technologies. We set out to prove that MerchantSpace could look as professional and perform as effectively and efficiently as enterprise ecommerce solutions costing over ten times as much. Based on customer feedback so far, I think we have done that.
Some notable changes found within version 2.9 of the Java based e-commerce framework are: cross-selling - the ability to recommend related products to those currently being viewed or purchased; inventory management - the ability to manage current stock levels, reserve stock quantities, set stock re-order levels, and deliver out of stock notifications; performance enhancements optimized database queries; reduced complexity custom category and product attributes can now be added with a single line of code; and an enhanced default framework store.
The biggest change in version 2.9 is the notable usability enhancements in the out-of-the-box e-commerce store. The default store demonstrates the professionalism that can be achieved with MerchantSpace Commerce.
We recognize that many customers do not have the time or resources to invest in usability analysis. We feel it is our responsibility to give MerchantSpace Commerce customers as much of an advantage as possible, said Dave Koo, VP Product Development, Ekkon Technologies. Even though MerchantSpace Commerce ships with full access to the Java e-commerce source code, we took considerable steps in improving the default storefront and shopping cart workflow that ships with the product.
By focusing on making version 2.9 a superior end-user experience, customers deploying MerchantSpace Commerce will immediately reap the benefits.

Mid-Market Companies Have More Ecommerce Options With the Release of MerchantSpace Commerce 2.8
VANCOUVER, BC, Canada, December 4, 2003 -- Ekkon Technologies, the developers of MerchantSpace Commerce, today announced the next version of its market leading J2EE ecommerce software is now available.
MerchantSpace provides a framework for the development of a highly customized B2B or B2C ecommerce store. Default functionality includes management of product catalogs, merchandising, promotions, customers, orders, shipping, tax, payment, and reporting. Each functional module of MerchantSpace has many advanced features. Because of its Java/J2EE framework, it can be conveniently integrated with existing data stores, legacy applications, accounting, ERP, CRM, and SCM systems. It also has handy XML data stores available for export. It has infinitely customizable business logic allowing for very simple checkout procedures or very complex ones.
MerchantSpace has an excellent Java API to give developers full control over the layout of every screen within the storefront. Source code availability allows one to apply very custom business requirements and extend ones ecommerce application in ways suitable to a specific development strategy.
MerchantSpace Commerce runs on almost any Java Application Server making it a truly platform agnostic ecommerce solution. It also natively supports multiple databases such as mySQL, MS SQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. Upgrading an ecommerce database infrastructure with MerchantSpace is as simple a changing a single line of code.
Version 2.8 builds on a solid feature set and now includes a revamped Commerce Manager and the ability to sell soft goods - better known as digital downloads. To further the already effective integration of real-time UPS shipment rate calculations, MerchantSpace now includes real-time UPS shipment tracking. Also added was tiered pricing / volume discount functionality. PayPal payment processing is now supported. Finally, new dynamic drill-down charting for all reports was included.
The response to a Java ecommerce application without a five or six figure price tag has been overwhelming, said Dave Koo, VP Product Development, Ekkon Technologies. Version 2.8 has really brought the product to a new level with the easiest to use yet robust commerce manager we have seen in the market today.

A J2EE compliant e-commerce solution with enterprise level features, but without the enterpise level price tag?
Ekkon Technologies is proud to introduce MerchantSpace.
There is a lot of mid-market e-commerce software out there but not too many address the needs of Java programmers.
There are a ton of integration features within the J2EE compliant framework of MerchantSpace. The price point allows many java system integrators to bid on mid-market clients without blowing the entire project budget on 'Broadvision' or 'Blue Martini' type licensing fees.
I would love to discuss any java related features of the product with interested parties or you can view the full feature set, API, Class Diagram, DB Schema etc. at http://www.merchantspace.com
While there, visit our partners section. Learn how MerchantSpace can make your next Java e-commerce project more profitable.
