I believe if you know the content covered in this book well enough it is good enough to get 95%+ on the exam.

I wrote an analysis of the book and parts that I thought the superstructure covered the material slightly better in this thread here:

Good luck!

Hi Jan or all the others here in the forum.

What do you mean by "OMGs Coverage Plan"? I looked in the superstructure document and did not find such a topic.

Question two:

I have two documents here: the UML2.0 Superstructure Specification and the UML2.0 Infrastructure Specification do I need both to make it through the exam?

At the moment I just read the germany book: "UML 2.0 Zertifizierung. Fundamental, Intermediate und Advanced (Broschiert)
von Tim Weilkiens, Bernd Oestereich"

Is this book enough to make it through the test? I did not much with UML in my daily work.

Thanks an bey

Whatever book you buy, make shure to also read all topics in the UML superstruture that are mentioned in OMG's coverage plan.

*All* questions for the fundamental certificate exam are about the superstructure contents mentioned in the coverage plan.

WOW lot's of replies! Finally I new know there is no Simulator out there for OMG-UML that is more or less like for the Java exams. I will train with my german book:-) It's very seldom that the german language is an advantage in the it areana! smile. Thanks you all for your questions and answers. bye.
Hm, these products are legally available. Why are they so not vorbidden if they break the copyright?!?!?! Are there any other test simulators out there? For Java you get sooooo much.

It's not allowed. When you take an exam, you have to agree not to disclose any exam questions.
Braindumps are created by people who broke this agreement.

JavaRanch has a strong position towards talking about asking for real exam questions:

Hello Nicholas!

Two questions: What is it so bad in using braindumps software?
Do you know this vendor: http://www.eplanetlabs.com/omg-certification-books.html

Thank you in advance

Hi, Salman! What do you mean with share your experience? I think the book is good but I would like to do some kind of additonal mock exam or something like this.

Do you have an ideas why braindumps software is bad?

Greetings from germany.

Hi, I am prepearing for the OMG UML 100 Fundamental Cert. I found that Testking is offering a testsuite http://www.testking.com/UM0-100.htm . Did anybody here has any experience with that product or with testking anyway? At the moment I read the book: "UML 2 Zertifizierung Fundamental, Intermediate und Advanced" from Tim Weilkiens and Bernd Oestereich. I do not stick only to german books but this one looked very good.
Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you soon - Stefan.
Yes Ariel you are right with the name of the author. I think the a combination of both books would cool - or work around get both!:-)

Finally!!! Puh was a hard time the last month. Because I did it parallel to my fulltime work. I am not a "lazy" student anymore!:-)) joke

During a looong hard winter I finally made it. Today I got it with 75%!
It was not so easy as I thought. But for me I am working full time and I did the preparation only in the evenings or on weekends the score is fine.

I had around 5 questions to Patterns.
A lot to the DD in various forms.
A lot to EL how to get properties with the requstScope variable.
and all the other things.... Sorry couldn't write a protocol.
BUT there were 4 or 5 questions with drag and drop.
The time was ok, I finished ca. 30 min. before the time was over. BUT I used it to redo some marked question. So in the end I finished 2 Minutes before the show was over.:-)

I really recommend for learning the HeadFrist book, but it has some drawbacks. If did the book and you basicly know the topics, you miss a complete Reference ot each topic. So if you need comparison of each topic with the most importen things do it on your own or by the book from the indean author but which is only from 2002 (don't have the name here). The official specs are good but I find in some cases not very helpfull. If you see them you think, oh sh... that's all I have to learn?!?!?

Ok Thanke you for this great page. I came here very often only to see how people made it through.

OH my score in the HeadFirst exam was the first time 29 questions :-( one week later I think 50 questions or so.

by and stay tuned - what would you recommend is better next Java Developer or Business Component Developer?
Hi everybody.
I really don't understand the solution from the answere on page 416 to the excercise on page 356? Could anyone explain these answeres to me again?

Thanks in advance! Have a nice day
