Thanks. You have been of great help for me. I was planning around April, so I will stick with that plan. Good luck with the next stages.
Congratulations!!! I am thinking of clearing SCEA this year. How long does it take, just to prepare and clear Part 1?
Congratulations, well done. Thanks for letting us know your preparation materials. Good luck for parts 2 & 3.
Thanks a lot to both of you. I was hoping it will take about a couple of months and I was thinking of taking the exam in July, I will now stick with the plan. I have been working on J2EE for about 3 years and have been using UML. I will start on the exam preparations earnestly now. Thanks again.
Checkout Enthuware's mock test, that's supposed to be good. There are a few other mock tests as well. I passed recently, so, just be cool and if you have done and understood HFS fully, then you will do well. I got about 5 EL questions but they are not very difficult. Good luck.
Hi ranchers,
I recently passed the SCWCD. I want to do the SCEA next. Forgive me for asking this silly question, but how long does it usually take to prepare for 310-051. I looked for quite a few threads in this forum and have an idea of the books / materials, however I was wondering if it is a few months I am looking at or if it is more like 6 months! I have been working on J2EE - WebSphere for about 3 years now, so I do have a basic understanding of some of the concepts. Any pointers would be helpful.
Also I had another question, once we do the first exam, is there a time limit by when we have to do the rest two or can we take one at a time, as feasible for us?
Thanks.
Hi,
I passed the SCWCD this afternoon. I had been preparing for a few months, but prepared seriously for about a month and started with the old 310-080 book by Natalie Levi and Philip Heller. About 2 weeks ago, I got the HFS book. I would say the HFS book and a bit of experience should be enough to see you through. The old 310-080 was actually detremental to my preparations. I did well on most topics, except for JSP pages using Standard Actions and Custom Tag Libraries which I did not get a chance to revise before the exams. The ranch posts helped me as well and I did rely on the jemos SCWCD reminder.txt list for last minute reminder. There were about 8 questions on DD (fairly easy) and 4 questions on Patterns (again, straight forward) and about 5 on EL.
Congratulations. We now have quite a few who have passed the exam without HFS. I still think it is a very good book, not just for the exam even otherwise.
Well done.
Well done, congratulations.
I am sorry, didn't know about the display name conventions.
I don't think it's important how many questions are asked on taglibs in the exam. I have not taken the exam yet, but you cannot ignore taglibs. They are integral to JSP's so, go on, get it in your head. Good luck.
Good luck for tomorrow.
