What do you mean with "their job scheduler" ?
Yes you can schedule jobs by using timer start events and yes this is covered in the book.

Yes, I know several projects/enterprise applications are using Activiti as their workflow engine.
I don't have a list of applications available for you but includes for example: Liferay (http://www.emforge.net/web/activiti-liferay), OpenBravo (http://forge.openbravo.com/projects/activiti/module), Mule (http://www.mulesoft.com/cloud-connectors/activiti-bpm-integration).

I don't think we have had a community request for this yet. So no support at the moment.
But I think SSO would only be valid for the Activiti Explorer, so support could be added there.

The default way of using the Activiti Designer is to use only the graphical tooling and not XML.
There is however basic support to add attributes to modeled elements in the XML.
If you can specify the steps you took and the issue you were facing in detail I can try and see what's causing the issue.

Okay, if you have problems with the generation of the BAR file could you attach the project to your post?
Then I can try it myself and see if I can find the cause of the issue.

Yes LDAP integration is covered in a lot of detail. If you use Alfresco for Activiti then you'll use the Alfresco LDAP integration.
If you use Activiti standalone then you can use the LDAP example of the book as a starting point.

Hi Arun,

Great!
1) You can specify a formKey attribute on a userTask that is pointing to your external form/page definition. So if you would for example use JSF, this formKey value could be one of the navigation definitions in our JSF application.
So then you retrieve the formKey value from the user task and let your JSF application handle the navigation based on that value.
The same is true for every other web technology framework of course.
2) We chose Vaadin to implement the Activiti Explorer because we think it's a great web framework. It allows Java programmers to code a web UI with only Java code (and some CSS in most cases).
Because Activiti is also Java based this provides a very good combination.

Yes, it also applies to the process image.

Hi Sunil,

You can use the REST API whenever you need it yes. It only requires basic authentication.
All the REST calls that are available are listed in the Activiti user guide.

Well, the two are merged into one big web application that's called the Activiti Explorer. But it actually consists of 2 components, the Activiti Modeler and the Explorer.
The Activiti Modeler is a web-based BPMN modeling tool where you can model your process definitions. The Activiti Explorer is a the application where you can start new process instances, complete tasks etc.

Hi,

The challenge would be to convert this workflow definition into a BPMN 2.0 process definition.
If you send me an example of a "simple" process I can see how much effort would be needed.
I'm not aware of somebody that has performed this exact migration.
