Hi,
We try to get some simple app working in VAJ. We want to open names.nsf and show some views which ought to be retrieved by the notes classes (imported lotus.notes.*).
Right from the start we get this error:
"java.lang.UnSatisfiedLinkError : no lsxbe in java.library.path"
are there some packages missing?
please help us.
TIA,
Lex

I've got the same problem. I read somewhere it's a bug when using Windows 2000. They say to rename the C:\LOTUS\NOTES\nlsxbe.dll to C:\LOTUS\NOTES\lsxbe.dll
I tried it but without success....

found the solution:
make copy of nslxbe.dll : lsxbe.dll, put this in same directory (notesroot)
add Notes.jar to CLASSPATH
add notesroot and notesroot\data to PATH
this works for me.
extra:
when you try to connect to a remote Domino server:
-add a fully qualified domain name in the Domino server document f.e. "localhost"
-add NCSO.jar and NCSOW.jar (websphere test env needs this) to CLASSPATH
-in domino server document: restriced java classes must be accesible by * and unrestricted by domino Administrators
- start DIIOP on the Domino server
(- SSL port on Domino must be 443)
now you can acces a Domino sesson on your (local) domino server trhough this:
NotesFactory.createSession(localhost,"","") = anonymous acces
or
NotesFactory.createSession(localhost,username,password)
hopes this can be of any help for someone.
grt,
Lex

Oh, I forgot something.
I found somewhere that the corba/iiop classes from NCSO.jar and NCSOW.jar conflict with the iiop classes from Websphere Test Environment.
I deleted all packages beginning with com.ibm.CORBA.iiop.* and
com.ibm.CORBA.services.* from WTE project.

Hi Lex Wouda,
I faced a similar problem while using Java to connect to Lotus notes. Your suggestion was very helpful.
Thanks
Dilip

As I recall, the problem that is fixed by creating a copy of
nslxbe.dll named lsxbe.dll occurs only with certian (newer?) version of Windows, and only in certain releases of Notes/Domino.

Youre reply would be usefull (to us java/notes developers) if you knew the exact numbers of the versions / releases you re talking about.

Taking a quick look at the fix list at www.notes.net, it looks like one problem of this sort affecting Windows 2000 was fixed in 5.0.6 (SPR JMIR4KDMVX).
A Lotus Cafe note title "RE: nlsxbe error with Java servlet" dated 15-Feb-01 discusses a cause of this problem, and mentions that the situation was improved with 5.0.7. It seems to be related to variations the values of some standard properties.

Hmm. I'm not making any promises, but if I get a chance, I'll see if I can learn more about this.

I am getting this error after putting a copy of the dll
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Lotus\Notes\lsxbe.dll: The specified procedure could not be found
I also get a java.exe error saying "procedure entry point JSJ_ConvertJavaObjectToJSValue could not be located in dynamic link library js32.dll"
what could be the reason
