In a significant public-facing web project for a very high profile client, we need reinforcement by two contractors. The project involves design and development of a data warehouse type database system populated from XML feeds, building a query infrastructure on top of this, realising a number of such queries for incorporation in web pages, and building a web-based console that allows a user to extract statistical data with a fair degree of flexibility. The architecture is geared towards performance as the number of users is expected to be high.
Preferred skills are:
  • OO Architecture & Design, UML
  • Java, Servlet, JSP, JMS
  • SQL, JDBC
  • Oracle data warehousing
  • XML
  • CVS, Ant, XP
  • 2+ years experience with at least three of the above is a prerequisite -- there isn't the time for a significant learning curve.
The project is starting next week, so immediate availability would be a big plus. The contract would run for 2 months with a possible extension by one or two months after that. The rates would be approximately 35 - 40 per hour.
If interested please e-mail Neil Saxon on nsaxon@objectivity.co.uk or call 076 420000.
