I have just downloaded eclipse-platform-3.0M5-win32.zip (please correct me if I downloaded the wrong one, there were so many options to choose from). Is there any particular thing I have to keep in mind before moving from 2.1 to 3.0? is it only a matter of importing the folders I need in my workspace directory? how about my global classpath, do I need to set it again in this new environment? what about the .metadata directory? what about my existing plugins (the ones I've downloaded, they're probably not in eclipse 3.0)?
thanks

I just pulled over the entire workspace from 2.1 to 3.0M5 and it worked (apart from some initial warnings about non-existent workspaces, which is fine as I'd defined some custom ones).
2.1 plugins working or not is hit and miss, more often miss it seems.
I've for now reverted to 2.1.

For Java development, you will need the JDT binary, too.
M5 broke many plugins for us - for example, no XML editor seems to work anymore. M4 was less problematic in this regard, but had some CVS-bugs.

It looks like I'm sticking to 2.1. Not time to upgrade to the new version
