IDEA7 and JSF

I am currently using IDEA 6. One of things I think IDEA lack is the drag and drop support for JSF and Struts. I have used IBM RSA before and was really impressed by its drag and drop support for JSF. I couldn't find any plugins either which would add the same.

Afaik the same is not available in IDEA7. Are there any plans of adding it in future or through a plugin.

Hello Amit,

Currently we don't have any definite plans to support WYSIWYG design for JSP and Struts. In our experience, WYSIWYG works well only for very simple cases, and for most real-world tasks editing code directly is still necessary.

I dont if what you mean is that wysiwyg and editing code are exclusive, or what. We need both.

Recently, I was doing a web app. I didnt know if netbeans support wsyiwyg on jsp, and I didnt have time to check, so I ran to RAD 7 to do it, and put it back to netbeans where my application is.

Without wysiwyg in jsp, I would want to hit my head against the wall, and hope to change career.

I have to side with Dmitry on this one. No WYSIWYG tool is going to generate code that I want to use.

believe it or not, I love IJ because it does't provide it!!!

Reasons why I think WYSIWYG *might* be useful

1. WYSIWYG is great to make jsp/dynamic mock up of a page
2. You can always customize the code generated
3. Great for newbies
4. Can be used to suggest/enforce best practices.

Does any other tool apart from RAD/RSA has a WYSIWYG functionality?
