Not being really on top of the JSR process-are there any JSRs currently that are geared towards Ant type tools?

I didn't see one, but you may check the JSRs in case I missed one.

The JSR is about interfaces and specifications for components that different vendors may implement. EJB is of course one of the more famous examples.
ANT doesn't really represent this type of work as it's an application all to it's self. Hence, I'm not sure that the JSR would be interested in it.
