running ant 1.5.1 or 1.5.3
on windows 2k
using the IBM JVM version Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0)Classic VM (build 1.3.0, J2RE 1.3.0 IBM build cn130-20020124 (JIT enabled: jitc)
I encounter two problems. One minor is the amount of time reported for init is an obvious error
Init: duration 17636908 minutes 30 seconds

the more difficult problem is that ear files are very ofen corrupted. Trying to open it with winzip reports an exteremely large number of missing bytes.

It seems to be a function of how large the build task is. For example if I break the build into two runs, by turning off half the tasks each time ( using flags in the property file) the ear file is fine. ( i.e extract and compile in one run, assemble the ear and war in another).
But running all the tasks the earfile is corrupted.
Has anyone seen anything like this?

Try to view the ear file with jar util in JDK. We found similiar problem with Winzip. But JDK jar util lists the ear file correctly.
