(I heard a rumor that Mike's anxious to get this promotion started. Thus, this early welcome...)

This week we're delighted to have Mike Clark amongst us, helping to answer questions in the Ant, Maven and Other Build Tools forum.

We'll be selecting four random posters in this forum to win a free copy of his excellent book, "Pragmatic Project Automation: How to Build, Deploy, and Monitor Java Apps", provided by the publisher, The Pragmatic Programmers.

Welcome Mike!

Over in the Bunkhouse, a few 'Ranchers have already been busy writing a few reviews of "Pragmatic Project Automation":
  • Book Reviews - Pragmatic Project Automation by Mike Clark
  • Book Reviews - The Pragmatic Starter Kit by David Thomas, Andrew Hunt

    Howdy!

I'm glad you invited me to stop by to answer questions and learn from y'all.

Feel free to blast me questions relating to project automation -- concepts, tools, techniques, etc. Beyond the book, I'm collecting automation stories, tools, tips, and tricks at pragmaticautomation.com. So I'm interested to hear about all sorts of project automation, and I'm sure folks here have stories to tell.

What types of automation are you using on your project and how is it helping you?

    Thanks!

    Mike

Here's a picture of Mike at Foo Camp. This picture was from last year... he actually looks much younger today.

He's standing with James Duncan Davidson, Jason Hunter, and way over there... me.

You're looking snappy there, Mike. Great to see you at Foo again and welcome to the ranch!

    cheers,
    Kathy

Thanks, Kathy! I might look younger, but after writing the book I sure feel older. :-)

Great to see you and Bert at Foo Camp. Keep up the great work!

    Best,

    Mike

    Welcome Mike!

Oh, and Kathy, unless that was Bert taking the picture, you must've had a real hard time keeping those guys at arms length

Welcome to the ranch, Mike. I'm reading the new book at the moment and I've got to say that it's a great read and particularly timely since I'm helping to set up a new build environment at work. Thanks and all the best with the promotion!

    Thanks, Simon!

As you're setting up your new environment, if you come up with stories, tips, or tricks you'd like to share, I'd love to post them on http://pragmaticautomation.com. Some goes for anyone else around these parts. :-)
