Ant script(build.xml) for 'C' code base build purpose?

Can i use Ant script(build.xml) for 'C' code base build purpose? Because Ant is java based build tool.

Yes you can compile C using Ant. Take a look at the cc task from ant-contrib.

Since Ant is a Java tool, you still need to have a JRE on the machine to run Ant. But you can use any compiler you want from within Ant.

What I found out is better using make file to compile c-code, but use ant apply task to call the "make"

Since ant-contrib cc task is just to translate the makefile to the arguments, if you don't know how to do your make file, you probably don't know how to use it either.
