Position Summary
This position is located in Norcross, Georgia.

The client is seeking to supplement existing applications development resources with a technical person having strong applications development experience in a Java environment. An ideal candidate will have recent experience enhancing and supporting mission-critical, enterprise web solutions. These solutions are built and maintained by a high profile technical team having a direct impact on business productivity and success. Familiarity with eCommerce concepts and system integration and performance optimization strategies are very helpful. Technolgies used currently or planned include Java, Broadvision, Tomcat, Apache, JBoss, Oracle 9i, Eclipse, HP/UX, MQ Series, WebMethods and others.

A Systems Analyst is responsible for analysis, development and support for computer software to meet the needs of business operations. He/she will understand business requirements, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical resources, and enhance/construct target solutions. The individual in this position has a detailed understanding of the organization (s) being supported, Information Technology's role in the business mission and operational procedures. He/She has specialized knowledge in one or more technical areas consistent with the nature of the application environment. This position may include roles in vendor management.

Job Responsibilities
- Hands on programming, testing and implementation
- Conduct analysis and author designs per IT project tasks
- Assist in evaluating and coordinating technical strategies (but not architecting those strategies)
- Help to establish time/effort estimations and acceptable quality measurements
- Evaluate the impact of design decisions on code, database and technical environments
- Evaluate interaction between various systems and business strategies
- Support and maintain system integrity
- Create documentation and designs in either Word or Visio
- Complete other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
- 3-5 years of professional experience
- Solid background and skill in Java programming should include experience with web applications (struts), Web Services, Object Oriented Analysis and Design
- Expertise developing solutions using Oracle 9i and PL/SQL
- Strong verbal skills, well-organized written communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with audiences of various career levels and technical proficiency; candidate will be communicating on a daily basis with Business Analysts and Project Managers
- Ability to prosper in, and contribute to, a high performing team environment
- Must be self-motivated
- Ideal candidate will have an aptitude for researching technical content (including source code) and developing an understanding of complex systems
