Hello,

When I try to install thunderbird or sun's java I get the following error

error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5 cannot open shared object file: No such file

but I am sure the are installed

If I try:

#ldconfig -v | grep libstdc++ I get:

libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 -> libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so
libstdc++.so.6 -> libstdc++.so.6.0.8
libstdc++.so.5 -> libstdc++.so.5.0.7

So, what's wrong?

And also happens the following.

I have downloaded unrar for unix

I have used it by calling it using the whole route, no problems

I tried to move unrar to /usr/local/bin
I mde the simbolic link into /usr/bin
ln -s /usr/local/bin/unrar unrar

Then when I type unrar at command line I get
unrar: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object
What's happenning?

permisions?
I don't think so because I made a chown -R 0755 on /usr/local

I have recently installed a debian etch on a AMD64

Thanks.
