Hi,
I have a doubt. How to submit the information collected from the form to text format. That mean i want to know once we press the submit button, the data should be saved in text format. So that we can visit that text file for the information. Can anybody tell me how to do this. I know this is not the place to post this question. Sorry for that.
Thanks
Arathi

Depends upon your server environment. If your server is Servlet enabled, using Java Servlets would be my solution of choice. In a less capable environment, you may need to use CGI (perl and so on). There are also other active technologies out there. What is the hosting server capable of?

just my $.02 worth.
I used servlets to do that. actually the servlets use a class i wrote. however, the way i did it requires you to create a blank .txt file manually. the names of the files i use might help you understand. i have SiteLog.txt, Screenames.txt, and users.txt(for people with passwords for private page). if you think it might help i will share the code. just e-mail me or ask in this thread.

Hi Randall Twede:
Your suggestion helped me. But you have any idea of doing same using ASP. Do give some hint.
Thank you
Arathi

But how did the elephant get like that? What did you do? I think all we can do now is read this tiny ad:
