#427JMB Software Engineer III
POSITION SUMMARY
Work as part of the core team building the email and messaging systems supporting some of the biggest online sites and brands in the world. Responsibilities include implementation, maintenance and support of enterprise level applications, code development, and database design. Development environment requires adherence to engineering QA practices including configuration management, source control,
unit testing, integration testing, and documentation of code.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
�BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
�3-5 years experience in software development.
�2-3 years experience with an object-oriented language, preferably
Java �Uses skills as a seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices & company policies & procedures. Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative and as well as practical ways.
�Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires review of a variety of factors.
�Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
�Solid experience with Java technologies, XML, object-oiented analysis and design.
�Excellent troubleshooting abilities, capable of working through a problem report, determining root cause of issue and working with engineering team to resolve.
�Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Able to present technical concepts to groups of people.
�Hands on software modeling experience and application of standard methodologies.
�Experience with relational databases, T-SQL and writing stored procedures.
�Experience with Java
servlet server solutions, templating technologies.
�Proficient in use of scripting and utility tools such as
ANT, Perl, etc
�Experience with various email protocols, including SMTP, POP3, IMAP a plus
�Proficient in web scripting languages such as HTML/css, XML, php and
JSP �Able to Identify problems and opportunities, and champion solutions within the scope of own work.
�Ability to complete tasks on time and in budget within a climate of frequent market change and shifting needs; ability to do so with minimal management oversight
