Technical Solutions Engineer, Client Applications - Mountain View
This position is based in Mountain View, CA.
Can you edit the Windows registry and recompile your Linux kernel at the same time? As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will have a broad set of responsibilities. You will work with other engineers to jointly maintain and enhance our products, with a focus on creating functionality that addresses the needs of Google's partners. Using your experience developing Windows client applications and your in-depth knowledge of Windows application installation tools, you will help our partners integrate Google software into their own products. You will also build tools that can help to diagnose and resolve problems with our client applications.
Requirements:
�Minimum of a BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree (MSCS preferred).
�5+ years industry experience in Windows software development (Internet industry experience is a plus).
�Experience working with different Windows installer authoring tools.
�Hands-on experience writing Windows client applications and using .Net technologies.
�In-depth knowledge of Web Services (WSDL), XML/XSLT, HTML, HTTP, SSL.
�Working knowledge of UNIX or GNU/Linux operating systems, relational databases, and SQL.
�Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
�Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated multitasking ability.
�Strong analytical skills.
�Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed, and organized.
�Must be able to learn quickly and get the job done in a high -visibility, high stress situation.
