Minimum Qualifications for this position include:

Proven track record of managing high performance software teams

At least three solid years of people management of a team of at least 5-10 people, including hire and fire

Strong preference leading software engineers in java technologies, SOA, Websphere and Unix environments

Experience as a technical lead at some point in career as a natural progression to management highly desireable

Experience in technical environments where there is test, development and business involvement and understanding these relationships

CMM, SEI or any other strong process acumen is desired
Project Management skills desired

Excellent communication skills that can be demonstrated in both oral and written formats

Highly desired: healthcare experience

Solid experience dealing with human resource and administrative issues relating to managing a team and the ability to organize work

Organizational and administrative skills that go along with being a manager

Soft skills:

Ability to manage a confident, technically savvy competent, diverse team
Ability to motivate and build trust
Willingness to ask questions
Energetic with a sense of urgency when needed
A passion for managing and leading and a willingness to take the initiative
Be comfortable in a fast paced environment;
Experience working with RUP, or extreme programming or other agile methods.

Typical responsibilities of this position will be to work with technical leads on the teams and remove barriers to team success; working with business customers; identifying new ways to deliver service to existing customers; evaluate new approaches to current architecture;

This position reports to the Director of Portal Development. The salary includes a base of approximately $105k plus company bonus of 12%, corporate 401(k) plus profit sharing, four weeks of vacation, additional time off and the opportunity to work at a company truly making a difference offering many internal promotion opportunities.
