It is so often said that to program using AJAX you need to be a "rocket scientist". Having looked at the basics of the "technology", it seems to me that you DO need to be a "programmer" (which so many in this business today are not), but NOT a "rocket scientist". A good programmer should be able to use this "technology" effectively.
One of the biggest Ajax myths is that you need to be a rocket scientist to do it - absolutely false. Anyone with solid programming skills can do this! The tools might not be where we want them but they are getting better...and they will continue to improve. Don't shy away from Ajax thinking it's only for Google!!!
