Modal Dilag box

Hi'

I have a question? Please throw some ideas how to do and I would app

User clicks the edit button on the home page (Parent window). A modal dialog box is displayed and the user selects the data from the list of records and clicks ok on the Modal window. The data is displayed on the respective text field on the Parent window. Using Javascript and j2ee environment.

Please throw some ideas on this and I appreciate if you would provide with sample code example and design. Please reply ASAP

MY question is Related to Modal Dialog Window.
I have a requirement in the following way.
1. User clicks the link next to the editable field on Parent Window
2. Modal Dialog/Pop-up is displayed.
3. Selects the data from the list of records(ex some parts) on the modal window.
4. After selection clicks Ok on the Modal window,
5. Returns to the main window with the selection made on the modal window automatically populated on the parent window editable field.

Using Javascript and J2ee ( without Swings/Applets)

I appreciate if you give me some ideas with same example code and Design.

How to pass the selected data list from the child window to the parent windows editable field.
