If I am starting a new project , which framwork is best suitable for me . I have a present Struts framework for J2ee .
Or do you recommend writing basic AJAX calls without any framework and just calling Server servlets..

Are you asking which Ajax framework is the best for you? I'll throw out the classic computer science answer: it depends. I will say that the odds of you needing to roll your own solution are small - there are dozens of great frameworks out there. Pro Ajax and Java Frameworks discusses:
  • Dojo
  • Prototype
  • DWR
  • Taconite
  • scriptaculous
  • AjaxTags
  • You may also want to investigate GWT and the Yahoo UI library.

At the end of the day it depends a lot on what you want out of the framework...

In regards to Ajax Frameworks, what are your thougths on Microsoft's framework? The reviews I've seen of it aren't bad, main downside people seem to have with it is that it is Microsoft.
