Hi guys! I'm not sure which forum to post this to. Could somebody please tell me what these technologies are used for?

The LiveHTTPHeaders home page gives a 10000 feet overview. It's a Firefox extension that records the headers of all HTTP traffic that the browser generates. That can be useful to debug certain web app problems. I would imagine that iehttpheaders does something similar for IE.
