Our client is a fully funded start-up company that measures customer connections to some of the leading companies in the United States. They are in need of someone who can make their business and strategy accessible to their clients on the web. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Front-End Java Developer at an Architecture level who has the desire to grow into a possible VP role. This person will be responsible for forming the team, determining the user interface and site navigation. They must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to drive the user experience and work flow as they guide the strategy and development of the new web product.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
�Define and execute online vision and web-platform strategy in alignment with the broader business objectives.
�Serve as Senior-most executive on web matters, to include all information architecture and design-related functions.
�Provide an executive and strategic-level understanding of implementation and design
patterns to address the company's specific business requirements.
�Substantial, hands-on experience with business intelligence, content management, performance management, and business intelligence solutions. Operate within the context of defined product offerings to create a web platform engineering roadmap.
�Proven track record of building a saleable, user-friendly interface that allows for dynamic qualitative and quantitative content (including the executive management of design and code reviews).
�Proven ability to build, manage, and track project teams, examine strategic business alternatives, execute project initiatives, and meet project milestones. Oversee all online strategy and operations.
�Demonstrated prowess of open-source and proprietary web applications and utilities.
�Introduce new technologies and functionality for web sites/projects.
�Drive and define architecture and technology planning for the company's data-tool web applications.
�Establish development standards and practices including security.
�Investigate and prototype emerging technologies and application.

Requirements:
�Experience in a data-centric environment that leverages the Internet as a key channel for the distribution of information and client services.
�Must have 5 years of experience with Java Development.
�Must have knowledge of
JSP,
JSF, and
J2EE.
�Experience with design and "feel" of websites is required.
�Leadership experience in the development, design, implementation and management of a comprehensive, data-centric web platform which will serve as the company's core product/service delivery vehicle.
�Experience developing web applications for use by a company's Analysts (internal user) and when applicable, by the consumer.
�Must have 10+ years of technology experience.
�Demonstrable problem solving skills; ability to solve complex problems in the face of time pressure and resource constraints.
�Must have significant technical experience in programming languages/environments, to include open source.
�Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
�Ability to work in a fast-changing dynamic startup environment.
�Must be a team player.
Preferred:
�MS in Computer Science (or related field) is preferred.
�At least 5 years experience in the online search, e-commerce or other high transaction consumer business.
�Substantial experience with data and application servers.
�Must have an understanding of
JBOSS.
�Experience applying technology in delivering dynamic content and data to consumers via the web.
�Must have experience implementing and managing agile development methodologies.
�Experience and understanding in data mining, information retrieval and data analytics technologies will be given special consideration.
