Marilyn,

What do all these initials stand for?
XP = eXtreme Programming, right? YEPP - right on
UP = Unified Process (unified method)
RUP = Rational Unified Process (UP from Rational, but since the
people tht gave us UP (Booch, Rumbaugh then Jabobson) were the
principles at Rational - early on the difference was moot
DRUP = ? - Do not know what it stands for, but i think this is
Booch's approach to a smaller, process.

For a very good, but very short historical article on how UML and UP were co-developed, see: Communications of the ACM, October 1999 "UML in Action", Grady Booch, Guest Editor.
Rest of the journal has many real examples of UML.

yeah , Steve you are right. It is Booch's approach for minimal RUP. It is lightweight RUP you can say. I think about this he is writing in his forthcoming book with newkirk.
Do you know more such type of processes ? which goes on the same lines of RUP & XP ?

This is awkward. I've grown a second evil head. I'm going to need a machete and a tiny ad ...
