FDD - feature Driven Development, proposed by Coad (et al) as a way to deploy better, faster, cheaper (you know all the ..ers) in a lightweight process that handles some the problems with developing via USE Cases.
Coad is part of TogetherSoft and is proposing FDD as an alternative to RUP.

Steve , Can you please elaborate upon this ? i think , if I have not mistaken , it was developed by COad with Ed Yourdon. Has he mentioned anything about this in his books ?

Shailesh,
The book:
"Java Modeling in Color with UML"; Peter Coad, Eric Lefebvre, Jeff DeLuca; 1999; Prentice Hall PTR; isbn 0-13-011510-X.
I have found to be very available (in the US, can't speak for out of the country, but i have been told it is available in Canada). have seen it on e-sites, brick and mortar mainstream bookstores, campus bookstores and conferences. (personnaly i have seen the book at well over 20 places.
Chapter 6 of the book details the ideas behind and the process of FDD.

Thanks , Steve . Thank YOu very , very much . Thing is that such kind of books are not easily available in India. They may be easily available in U.S. & in Canada . But , not in India. The books of Coad & Yourdon that you have mentioned in the OOPS forum are not available in India. I have checked after getting your reply regarding link to Yourdon's site.
Thank you for your link. It was really helpful.

Shailesh,
If you don't mind answering a totally ignorant question.
You mention that a lot of books are hard to get in India. To help me, help you in the future, could you describe how you
are able to obtain books and how i could find out if a book or books are available before referencing?
Thanks in advance, and you are most welcome.
steve
