For softwares we have many kinds of models. (ex:waterfall..)

is there something like that for website development..

Just for grins, HERE is something I put together years ago. I called it a process but it's more of a checklist. Well, what process isn't? I also provided a link to a great WebMonkey article about Information Architecture and process. It's probably been five years since I even read this stuff ... let me know if it's helpful.

For website design, "Don't Make Me Think" by Steve Krug is a must-read.
