I am new to JNI and was wondering if it is possible to remove a programs dependancy on a dll without effecting other programs that may be using that dll? I am trying to write a program to delete programs from the hard drive of a windows basd machine and do not want to just delete dll's incase other programs are using them.

There's no way to do this in Java -- however, there are a number of tools out there that will do this (or similar) things. A quick Google search for "Windows DLL dependency delete" will yeild some results like this one.

That said, as this isn't a true Java question, I'm going to move this to General Computing. The nice folks there will probably be better able to help you.
