Do u think investing in Acer notebook is good option?

How rough and tough it is ? Durability?

I am looking at value for money

As we know IBM is top brand to buy a laptop.

But Acer is cheep

I am planing for this Model.

Average at best. Go for IBM, or carbon-fibre Acer Ferrari.

Personally, when i looked into buying a laptop, i would, like everyone does, look at the specifications of it(by the way, this is the upmost of it..)

But, equally important, i think the after-sales service of it must be also research upon... i mean, you won't want your laptop to part you for lets say, 1 week, just because some of it's parts are malfunctioning, won't you?

Therefore, my advice, Sandeep, is to look whether Acer has a local support centre at the place you stay.. else, look into other brands whereby their service centres can be easily reached by you from your location...

This is very important..

*Just my 2 cents...*

I have tried an Acer before. And to be honest, I dont like it. Too many plastic there. And it is HOT.

Yes the IBM is pricey but you get what you pay for. Other alternative is HP business laptop (nx.... or nc....). It's very well built just like IBM but much cheaper.
Another one is Toshiba Tecra (-->very expensive, won't recommend it)
