I want to buy a S cable for my laptop (Dell Inspiron) which has 7 pin. But I am not able to get a 7 pin anywhere(at least so far). Instead 4 pin cables are available in plenty. I want to know if these 4 pin cable will still fit into the 7 pin slot?

There's plenty of info on this wikipedia page... Under the "Specifications" section, it talks about interchanging 7 and 4 pin cables. You have a 7 pin socket, which will accept a 4 pin cable, so that would probably work for what you're trying to do, if I'm understanding correctly. I can't say for sure though, because there is a purpose for those extra pins, although if all you're trying to do is connect to a monitor of some sort, my understanding is that it should work fine.

Thanks for the info. My purpose is to watch movies played on my laptop (DVDs) on my TV. I saw in some sites that 4 pin cables can be used in 7 pin sockets. Just wanted to really check that if someone has already tried that and any tips on buying on good S cables. TIA.

I got a 4 pin cable which fit perfectly into the 7 pin slot. Now I can watch all those DVDs on my TV.

Now I am super curious what sports would be like if we allowed drugs and tiny ads.
