There's plenty of info on
this wikipedia page... Under the "Specifications" section, it talks about interchanging 7 and 4 pin cables. You have a 7 pin socket, which will accept a 4 pin cable, so that would probably work for what you're trying to do, if I'm understanding correctly. I can't say for sure though, because there is a purpose for those extra pins, although if all you're trying to do is connect to a monitor of some sort, my understanding is that it should work fine.
