I am planning to purchase a Laptop. But I have been confused over the comments of diffrent people on diffrent brands.
I have explored few models from Dell, HP, Lenovo.

Among them I have shortlisted the follwing :
Lenovo Y500 776146Q
Lenovo Y500 776145Q
HP Pavilion DV 2401 TU

How are the feedback of Lenovo and HP ??

Please help me in this regard.

Obviously, it has alot to do with what you're using the laptop for.

Personally, the most important thing to me, as a developer, is how much RAM I can potentially shove into a laptop. Every laptop I've ever owned had to be thrown out when I maxed out it's RAM capacity.

Alot of laptops max out a 2 gigs. I'm using 2 gigs right now, and it's not enough to run WebSphere Portal and IRAD 7. Anything I buy now has to be able to take 4 gigs at least.

Same here. The only reason why I changed laptops recently, is for the memory limit of the motherboard.

Any of those above have an ice dispenser?

Jesus, Cameron Thanks for your comments.

Any feedback on brand name. I am not opting for Dell as there is no Dell service center in India.

How is Lenovo ?? Any particular model ??

Amaresh

Usually, most 32 bit OS can only use 3GB of memory, the last gig is wasted on invisble DMA buffers, etc.
