In August last year my Windows 2K collected a worm that caused a denial of service attack. Some service kept sending udp packets. CPU utilization went to 99%. I bought a new OS and a new copy of Norton AntiVirus. Neither of these helped.
Yesterday Norton found the infected file. Virus definitions containing the worm were published only four months after I was first attacked.
