Hi
I need a simle java client that talks over https using a server certificate from a specified

All jsse documentation that I see talks about keytool and all
What if I have the cer file and I want to use it at run time.
i.e. i ll say that my cert is lying in c:\xyz\abc.cer and now try to connect to https://abc.com

Is this possible using jsse ?

I have used weblogic security classes

weblogic.security.PEMInputStream
weblogic.security.SSL.HostnameVerifier
weblogic.security.SSL.SSLContext
weblogic.security.SSL.TrustManager

earlier to achieve similar things, using wl 6.1

Just wondering whether j2se1.4 has some "standard" way of doing this

I've never tried to do this, but the trust manager infrastructure is part of standard JSSE: see TrustManagerFactory and friends. It's described in more detail in the JSSE guide which is part of the J2SE development kit documentation.
