Hi,

I've installed Java 1.6 and the browser plugins, but am having a problem authenticating against our proxy. I was previously using Java 1.4.2 and did not have this problem.

The dialog that appears asks for my user/password and states it is using Integrated Windows authenication, and I think I need to be using plain text authentication according to the people who manage our network. No matter what I enter into the dialog I just cannot get through the proxy.

I know little about security so although I have had a few google sessions I cannot find out how to resolve it - can anyone please help ?

Dave
